National Taiwan University’s College of Bioresources and Agriculture has received subsidies of the “Training Program for Academia-Industry-Research-Linked Talents of Biomedicine and New Agriculture.” This program is the Category A of Ministry of Education’s “Training Program for Interdisciplinary Talents of Biomedicine and New Agriculture.” The College also built Education Center for Agriculture Innovation and Industrialization in 2018. Its purposes are to cultivate interdisciplinary talents in the agricultural industry, establish an industry-academia interaction cooperation mechanism and platform, and promote the connection between the industry and the academia.
Associate Professor Julie C. L. Sun, director of Biotechnology Industry Study Centre, Taiwan Institute of Economic Research, started the course “Agricultural Business and Industry Analysis.” It invites representative important persons in the agribusiness industry to share case information and introduces the current situation and development trend of domestic agriculture. It analyzes the future development potential of agriculture with the current situations of industries of animals, plants, biotechnology, leisure, and others as examples. It expects its students to acquire a better understanding of the agricultural biotechnology industry and future business development opportunities through this course.
