Sunny Rich Group’s Fishery-Electricity Symbiosis Greenhouse Plus AI’s Great Help in Disease Prevention

Sunny Rich Donated 12,000 SPF White Shrimps as Breeding Stock

  • The fishery-electricity symbiosis ani-disease greenhouse project of green energy company “Sunny Rich” was not affected by the shrimp disease. It not only successfully adopted AI smart technology to improve its shrimp farming technologies but donated 12,000 SPF (specific pathogen free) white shrimps to 2 breeding farms as breeding stock on July 9.

  • Kuei-Kuang Chen, chairman of Sunny Rich, pointed out that promoting green electricity planting is not to compete with farmers or fishermen for land and that only coexistence and co-prosperity can lead to sustainable development. Sunny Rich also insists on “not reducing the areas and production of agriculture and aquaculture” when developing green energy. These are why it develops agriculture-electricity symbiosis and fishery-electricity symbiosis. Seeing the shrimp disease (decapod iridescent virus 1) had recently hit the shrimp farming industry, Chairman Chen believed it was time for the company to release new technologies to give back to the society.

He said that Sunny Rich successfully built SPF white shrimp farming environments and cultivation technologies under the guidance of the Council of Agriculture’s Animal Health Research Institute, Fisheries Research Institute, etc. It used the self-built solar energy anti-disease greenhouse to farm SPF baby shrimps for the first time in February this year and its production of breeding-stock-level big shrimps has reached 15 catties.

He said that the traditional shrimp farming industry has many infections because there are no “blocking measures.” In contrast, the anti-disease greenhouse is a bird-proof and insect-proof non-toxic farming environment managed with AI smart technology. The environment greatly reduced shrimp farming’s risks and fairly improved its quality. At present, it can be ensured that it farms 3 times a year, produces more than 10 kg per square meter a year, and has a survival rate over 80%.

The donated white shrimp farm owner Chang Chia-Yi said that the production value of white shrimp had been hit hard by the disease, from 1 billion in previous years to less than 100 million this year. Yet, with the help of Sunny Rich’s new technology, he would only need 5 to 6 months to grow the shrimp breeding stock that usually needs 8 months. He would share the good news with more shrimp farm owners after taking over the white shrimps.
